Tremco Roofing Class Action Lawsuit
Berger Montague is currently investigating a potential nationwide class action lawsuit against Tremco, Inc. (“Tremco”) for the company’s part in falsely advertising its products and selling defective roofing systems.
About the case
Tremco and its parent company, RPM International, Inc. recently paid a $60.9 million fine to the federal government. The settlement resolved a legal action alleging that Tremco (1) failed to provide the government with price discounts provided to non-federal government customers; and (2) marketed expensive materials to government purchasers without disclosing the availability of the same materials at lower cost that were manufactured and sold by Tremco.
According to the Justice Department, between 2002 and March 2011, Tremco may have improperly marketed generic products as a superior line of the same product and used a defective adhesive formula in its roofing systems.
