Biography

Béranger Rios is an Associate in the Securities group at the Firm’s Philadelphia office. He focuses his practice on complex litigation, including securities fraud, corporate misconduct, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Before joining the Firm, Mr. Rios practiced at a boutique stockholder-derivative firm, where he prosecuted state and federal law claims with a particular emphasis on Delaware corporate and capital market law. Previously, he spent six years with a plaintiff’s litigation firm, contributing to the representation of individual and institutional investors in complex class and derivative actions involving securities law violations. Notably, Mr. Rios worked on the litigation against Credit Suisse following the collapse of its XIV exchange-traded note on February 5, 2018, which resulted in an approximate 95% loss in value and is alleged to have caused more than $1.5 billion in investor damages (case pending).

Mr. Rios has also partnered with expert witness firms to provide specialized knowledge to securities law firms, the SEC, and the Department of Defense (DoD) in a bid for a contract involving statistical analysis of the DoD’s budget auditing tools.

To better assist victims of financial fraud, Mr. Rios has created automated platforms tracking active legal cases to facilitate fund recovery—an initiative honored by Fordham University School of Law. Mr. Rios earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Fordham University School of Law and an M.B.A. from IAE Nice, France. He also holds a Master’s degree in law from the University of Oslo, Norway (via the ERASMUS program), and a law degree from the second-oldest University of France, in Poitiers.
