Berger Montague Highlights Landmark Results and Growth in 2025 Annual Report
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Berger Montague has released its inaugural 2025 Annual Report, detailing a year marked by record-setting recoveries, precedent-setting litigation, and continued recognition as a leading plaintiffs’ law firm in the United States and Canada.
The report underscores the firm’s core mission—advocating for workers, consumers, investors, and communities—while delivering substantial results in high-stakes litigation. Among the year’s most notable achievements was a $1.64 billion False Claims Act judgment against Janssen Products, one of the largest recoveries of its kind, along with a $442 million trebled jury verdict in an antitrust case involving Johnson & Johnson’s medical technology unit.
Additional headline matters included a $375 million settlement on behalf of UFC fighters, $169 million recovered for chicken farmers, and a $289 million judgment against Caremark in a whistleblower case. The Firm also secured meaningful consumer and investor recoveries, including settlements in pharmaceutical, financial, and product liability litigation.
Beyond monetary results, Berger Montague continued to shape significant legal precedents. Courts appointed the Firm to leadership roles in complex cases, including a major antitrust litigation concerning alleged algorithmic price-fixing in construction equipment rentals. The Firm also achieved key procedural victories, such as defeating motions to dismiss in multiple financial services cases involving cash sweep programs.
The report highlights the Firm’s national and international reach, with notable work emerging from its Toronto office, including a $25 million securities settlement in the Just Energy case.
Recognition of Berger Montague’s litigation strength remained strong throughout the year. The Firm maintained a Band 1 national antitrust ranking from Chambers USA, while numerous attorneys were recognized by Best Lawyers, Lawdragon, and Super Lawyers. Notably, the Firm was again identified as having recovered more compensation in antitrust class actions than any other U.S. law Firm.
The report also emphasizes the Firm’s commitment to public service. In 2025, Berger Montague attorneys contributed more than 2,200 hours of pro bono work, valued at approximately $1.8 million, supporting individuals and communities lacking access to legal representation.
