Paul Bland to Lead Free Webinar on the Latest Developments in Mandatory Arbitration, Hosted by Berkeley Law and The Civil Justice Research Initiative
Shareholder Paul Bland will co-host a free webinar on November 1, 2024 at 4pm ET / 1pm PT titled “The Latest Developments in Mandatory Arbitration.” The webinar is hosted by The Civil Justice Research Initiative’s Richard Jolly and offered through Berkeley Law’s “Berkeley Boosts” webinar series.
The webinar will examine the latest legal and political developments concerning mandatory arbitration, including a conversation on why it has increasingly been challenged and what recent research tells us about how consumers currently view and understand mandatory arbitration.
Mr. Bland is Co-Chair of the Appeals and Complex Briefing department at Berger Montague. Prior to joining the Firm, he was the Executive Director of Public Justice. He is frequently sought out for his insights on the implications of mass arbitration, having recently led a webinar on mandatory arbitration agreements in light of the high-profile wrongful death case Piccolo v. Disney.
The webinar will also feature Professor Myriam Gilles of Cardozo Law, who is a leading mandatory arbitration scholar. In 2021, she testified before the House Committee on the Judiciary on the consequences of forced arbitration.
