Brendan Ballou is the founder of the Public Integrity Project, and a former Special Counsel at U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, where he served from 2020-2025. He is also the author of Plunder: Private Equity’s Plan to Pillage America

He has worked in private practice and in the National Security Division of the Justice Department. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Stanford Law School.
