Biography

Albert has over two decades of professional experience first as an investment advisor and subsequently, as a lawyer. Albert worked at Nesbitt Burns while in business school and graduated with distinction from law school with a common law degree in English and a civil law degree in French. He is a Certified Investment Manager (1996) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (1996). He has earned the Advanced Certificate in Adjudication and has volunteered as an adjudicator for the Financial Planning Standards Council (now FP Canada) since 2016.

Mr. Pelletier’s representative cases include Miller v. FSD Pharma, Inc. 2020 ONSC 4054 (leave to proceed with a secondary market misrepresentation claim under Part XXIII.1 of the Securities Act); Kauf v. Colt Resources, Inc., 2019 ONSC 2179 (leave to proceed); Eda Marie Agueci et al. (Re) (2015), 38 OSCB 1573 (merits) and (2015), LNONOSC 375 (sanctions) and Fiorillo et al v. Ontario Securities Commission, 2016 ONSC 6559 (Divisional Court appeal dismissed); Crown Hill Capital Corporation and Wayne Lawrence Pushka (Re 2013), 36 OSCB 8721 (merits) and (2014), 37 OSCB 7509 (sanctions), and 2016 ONSC 3041 (Divisional Court appeal dismissed); and Law Society of Upper Canada v. Farkas, 2018 ONLSTA 2 (Law Society Tribunal-Appeal Division).

Albert was a managing partner of Morganti & Co., P.C. (2018-2022), one of the most influential Canadian shareholder protection litigation law firms within the recent past and previously practiced law at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, Bennett Jones LLP, the Ontario Securities Commission, and served as a Discipline Counsel for the Law Society of Ontario.
