Biography

Julia McGrath is an Associate in the Firm’s Antitrust practice group. She represents consumers, businesses, and public entities in complex class action litigation, prosecuting anticompetitive conduct such as price-fixing, bid-rigging, and illegal monopolization.

Ms. McGrath has challenged anticompetitive conduct in a variety of industries, including a for-profit hospital system in In Re: Mission Health Antitrust Litigation (W.D.N.C.); the poultry industry in Jien, et. al. v. Perdue Farms, Inc. et al, 19-cv-2521(D. Md.); the red meat packing industry in Brown et. al. v. JBS USA Food Company, et. al., 22-cv-02946(D. Colo.); the single-serve coffee industry in In Re Keurig Green Mountain Single-Serve Antitrust Litigation, 14-md-2542 (S.D.N.Y.); the pharmaceutical industry in In re: Seroquel XR (Extended Release Quetiapine Fumerate) Antitrust Litig., 20-md-1076 (D. Del.), In Re: Lipitor Antitrust Litigation, 12-cv-2389(D.N.J.), In Re: Ranbaxy Generic Drug Application Antitrust Litigation, 19-md-02878 (D. Mass), and In Re: Generic Pharmaceuticals Pricing Antitrust Litigation, 16-md-2724 (E.D. Pa.); and the financial industry in In re London Silver Fixing Ltd. Antitrust Litigation, 14-md-02573 (S.D.N.Y.) and In re: GSE Bonds Antitrust Litigation, 19-cv-1704 (S.D.N.Y.). Ms. McGrath also represents the government of Mexico in Estados Unidos Mexicanos v. Diamondback Shooting Sports Inc., et. al., 22-cv-00472(D. Ariz.), a pro-bono matter against five Arizona gun dealers, alleging they knowingly and systematically participate in trafficking military-style weapons and ammunition to drug cartels in Mexico through reckless and unlawful business practices.

Recognizing her accomplishments, the Legal Intelligencer awarded Ms. McGrath as a Lawyer on the Fast Track in 2024. Ms. McGrath also serves on the Executive Board for Justice Rising Advocates for the Community of Legal Services of Philadelphia.

Prior to law school, Ms. McGrath had a successful career in government and politics. She worked on political campaigns at the local, state, and federal level. She’s advised top-tier congressional, gubernatorial, and U.S. Senate candidates in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and served as the Finance Director for U.S. Senator Bob Casey. In 2013, she was appointed by President Obama to serve as Special Assistant to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration.

Ms. McGrath earned her J.D., cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law and her B.A. in History from Boston University.
