Berger Montague served as counsel for the direct purchasers of containerboard products and obtained settlements of more than $350 million. In this litigation, the plaintiffs alleged that from 2004 to 2010, the defendants PCA, Noramac, International Paper, Temple-Inland, Weyerhaeuser, Georgia-Pacific, and West Rock, the largest sellers of containerboard products, conspired to inflate prices for containerboard products in the United States. In March 2015, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois certified a nationwide class of direct purchasers from the defendants. In re Containerboard Antitrust Litigation, 306 F.R.D. 585 (N.D. Ill. 2015) (certifying class). The settlements followed.
