Berger Montague Consumer Protection Lawyers to Speak at 2024 Consumer Rights Litigation Conference & Class Action Symposium

Executive Shareholder Michelle Drake and Associate Sophia Rios will speak at the 2024 Consumer Rights Litigation Conference & Class Action Symposium, held in Orlando on October 24-27. The annual symposium is hosted by the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) and the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) as part of their Consumer Law Educational Events Series. The event brings together the nation’s top consumer class action litigators to discuss new rules, litigation strategies, and more.

Michelle Drake’s session, “The Facts Make the Case: How To Find and Use Data To Win Your Case,” will take place Saturday, October 26. Jennifer Murray of Terrell Marshall Law Group PLLC is co-presenting. The session will walk through how data from sources like the CFPB complaint database or even creditor and servicer’s own databases can be accessed and used to a plaintiff lawyer’s advantage to strengthen their case.

Earlier in the conference, Sophia Rios will speak on the “Breaking Down Barriers: Interrupting Bias in Your Legal Practice” panel. It will take place on Thursday, October 24. The panel will discuss proactive ways to create a more welcoming and inclusive law practice, including techniques to interrupt bias when engaging with staff and clients who come from marginalized groups.
