Biography

Marika K. O’Connor Grant is an Associate in the Firm’s Minneapolis office and practices in the Consumer Protection practice group.

Before joining the Firm, Marika worked at a boutique class-action firm, representing individuals in consumer protection, appellate, and False-Claims Act cases. Marika also previously served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Wilhelmina M. Wright on the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, worked as an Associate in the general litigation department of a large international law firm, and served as a Vetting Attorney for the Biden-Harris Administration’s Transition Team. While working as an associate at the leading international law firm, Marika represented clients in consumer protection, securities, and complex commercial litigation matters, and maintained an active pro bono practice assisting asylum seekers and victims of police misconduct. In her role as a Vetting Attorney for the Biden-Harris Transition Team, Marika vetted and interviewed candidates for Cabinet and sub-Cabinet positions in the Biden-Harris Administration.

Marika graduated from Stanford Law School with high pro bono distinction. While at Stanford Law School, Marika served as the Janet D. Steiger Fellow in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, where she worked on consumer protection enforcement actions and investigations related to fair lending, for-profit schools, debt collection, and data privacy and cybersecurity. While in law school, Marika also volunteered in Stanford Law School’s Economic Advancement Pro Bono Project, served as the Technical Managing Editor of the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, and worked as a research assistant and teaching assistant for professors at both Stanford Law School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Before attending law school, Marika earned her undergraduate degree at Carleton College and spent three years working to advance civil rights and consumer protection.
