Miller v. Hygrade Food Products, Inc. – Race Discrimination Settlement

Berger Montague served as lead counsel and, led by Shanon J. Carson, obtained a settlement of $3.5 million on behalf of a group of African American employees of Sara Lee Foods Corp. to resolve charges of racial discrimination and retaliation at its Ball Park Franks plant located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The case was litigated in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and captioned Miller, et al. v. Hygrade Food Products, Inc., et al., No. 99-CV-1087 (E.D. Pa.).
