Berger Montague served as sole lead counsel and obtained a class action settlement against American Isuzu Motors, Inc. and Isuzu Motors Ltd. on behalf of purchasers and lessees of 1998 and 1999 Isuzu Amigo and Rodeo automobiles who incurred economic damages in connection with accidents caused by the alleged failure of the vehicles’ anti-lock brake system (“ABS”). Under the settlement, settlement class members were able to recover up to $500 each for economic damages resulting from accidents caused by the faulty brakes. The case, which asserted claims for breach of warranty and consumer fraud, was litigated in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County and captioned Parker v. American Isuzu Motors, Inc., No: 3476 (CCP, Philadelphia County).
