About the Investigation
Uponor manufactures and sells cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipes for the distribution of potable (drinking) water. These are pipes that bring water to a residence’s sinks, washing machines, showers, toilets, etc. The pipes are marketed under the AquaPEX brand and are sold in white, red, and blue.
Berger Montague is investigating whether Uponor’s PEX pipes are defective and fail earlier than expected. The defects may lead to the pipes cracking, developing small holes, and leaking, which can result in significant damage to the structures in which the Uponor PEX is installed.
