Berger Montague Named a Tier 1 Antitrust Law Firm in The Legal 500 United States 2021
Berger Montague is proud to announce that the Firm has been named a Tier 1 Law Firm in the Antitrust: Civil Litigation/Class Actions: Plaintiff division of The Legal 500 United States 2021.
Each year, The Legal 500’s team of experienced researchers – which includes qualified journalists and lawyers – spends several months conducting in-depth research into the United States legal market. The primary source of their information is the law firms themselves, and the team also gathers feedback from peers and clients to assess firms’ overall visibility and reputation. This process culminates in detailed rankings and editorial that provide an objective analysis of the US market.
In this year’s guide, The Legal 500 writes: “Berger Montague has a flair for handling high-stakes plaintiff-side cases, regularly winning high-value settlements for clients following antitrust law violations. The department helped achieve the largest-known settlement of an antitrust class action in history in the In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation, with the class settlement fund reaching approximately $5.62bn.”
The 2021 edition goes on to highlight “firm chairman Eric Cramer, commodities, securities and environment expert Merrill Davidoff, class action heavyweight Laddie Montague, and David Sorensen, who frequently represents direct purchasers of prescription drugs.” The guide states that Michael Dell’Angelo is “another name to note,” referencing his “expertise in price-fixing matters, as well as other anti-competitive wrongdoing affecting financial instruments.” Shareholder Caitlin Coslett is recognized as a key lawyer as well.
