Biography
Jennifer Elwell is Senior Counsel with Berger Montague’s Consumer Protection department and based in their Philadelphia office. Since joining the Firm, Jennifer has played a significant role in their Mass Tort group, representing individuals in multi-district litigations who have sustained serious injuries caused by defective and harmful consumer products and medical devices, including Allergan Biocell textured breast implants and Philips Respironics CPAP devices. Recently, the Honorable David J. Campbell appointed Jennifer to serve on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Bard Implanted Port Catheter Product Liability Litigation (MDL 3081), situated in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Jennifer has represented hundreds of survivors of sexual and physical abuse through her involvement in The Glen Mills Schools Litigation (Phila. Ct. Common Pleas, Mass Tort Program). She also represented employees of an international corporation with claims of workplace discrimination that resulted in a confidential settlement.
Prior to joining Berger Montague, Jennifer worked at a leading plaintiff’s class action law firm in their consumer protection group. Before that, she worked at national defense firms in practice groups that represented pharmaceutical companies involved in multidistrict litigation.
Jennifer is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law and Villanova University. At Temple, she was a member of the Temple Law Review and recipient of their Outstanding Oral Argument Award. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
