Case Number: 2:23-cv-00738

Practice Area: Credit Reporting & Background Checks Class Action Lawsuit Against Credit Reporting Agencies Credit Report Errors

Case Status: Settled

Settlement Amount: $30 million

Court: Nevada

In this class action, Berger Montague represented Mr. Rodriguez, who alleged that National Credit Center, LLC had inaccurately reported him as a “match” to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) List when he applied for financing to purchase a vehicle, thereby violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”).

In 2024, the case resulted in a $30 million settlement for a class of hundreds of thousands of consumers who, like plaintiff, had been inaccurately matched to the OFAC List when attempting to finance or purchase a car. This is one of the most significant class-action settlements in the history of the FCRA.
