Berger Montague serves as co-lead class counsel on behalf of a proposed class of all persons who purchased or leased any 2017-2019 Chrysler Pacifica or Chrysler 300 vehicles equipped with FCA US LLC’s “Uconnect” infotainment system (“Class Vehicles”).
The lawsuit alleges that FCA sold the Class Vehicles without disclosing that the Class Vehicles’ Uconnect infotainment system was defective because its screens, including their operating software and routing modules, suffered from freezing, loss of back up camera functionality, loss of navigation system functionality, black screens, repeated unintentional reboots, and general lack of operation.
Plaintiffs allege that the defect results in the need for frequent software updates and expensive replacements of screens and related components. Plaintiffs also allege that FCA knew about the deficiencies of the Uconnect before Plaintiffs purchased their Class Vehicles.
On January 14, 2022, Judge Sean F. Cox issued an opinion denying, in part, FCA’s motion to dismiss the case.
Led by Lawrence Deutsch and Jeff Osterwise, Berger Montague has since overseen a vigorous discovery process. Plaintiffs anticipate filing their motion for class certification in September 2023.
